THE ALLIANCE OF EDWARDSVILLE AND GLEN CARBON
AND ERATO ON MAIN TO HOST 11th ANNUAL HARVEST WINEFEST: Tickets Now on Sale
EDWARDSVILLE, ILL., Aug. 30, 2010… Now in it’s 11th year, Harvest WineFest has become one of Edwardsville and Glen Carbon’s most popular social fundraising events. This year’s event will be held on Thurs., Oct. 7, 2010 from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Lewis and Clark Community College’s Leclaire Room at the N.O. Nelson Campus in Edwardsville.
Harvest WineFest, which is co-hosted by the Alliance of Edwardsville and Glen Carbon and Erato on Main, features more than 200 wines from around the world, specialty beers and food from the communities’ premier restaurants. Participating restaurants and retailers include the event host Erato, as well Bella Milano, Fond, Neruda and Sweeties.
Part of what makes Harvest WineFest such a popular event is the ability for guests to purchase wine at discounted rates. According to Zachary Bristol of Erato on Main, “Many of our patron's use WineFest as an opportunity to purchase gifts for friends, family, and clients for the Holidays. Wine can be tricky to buy occasionally, because of personal tastes. With that being said, WineFest is a great event for having so many wines in one place to sample, giving everyone a bit more confidence in their purchases."
New to the event this year is the option to also purchase artisan cheeses by the pound. Erato on Main has invited a cheese purveyor to showcase a selection of cheeses that guests can then pair with their favorite wine.
The proceeds from Harvest WineFest helps fund efforts by the Alliance to the cultivate growth of our area and foster job creation. Bill Barlow, Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Alliance of Edwardsville and Glen Carbon said “We appreciate the support of Erato as we raise funds to further the future development of this growing region and encourage wine and beer enthusiasts alike to join us for this special event.”
Tickets are $35 per person and may be purchased at Erato on Main or by calling the Alliance at (618) 656-7601. Each ticket includes a $5 voucher, which is good towards the purchase of $50 of wine ordered at the event. Tickets are limited.
