CAREER DEVELOPMENT SEMINAR FOR WOMEN TO BE HELD:

Event Created by Women for Women Interested in Advancing their Professional Career

GODFREY, ILL., August 27, 2010 . . . For the 10^th year in a row, women throughout the RiverBend have developed a series of presentations aimed at helping strengthen the personal and professional lives of other area women.

Known as the For Women, By Women Series, this year’s event – themed Survival Island - will pamper guests with attendance gifts, door prizes, educational/motivational speakers and networking opportunities to enhance their careers and personal lives.

Sponsored by SandbergPheonix & Von Gontard P.C.; RiverBend Growth Association and S.C.O.R.E, the event will feature Donna Eye, Sales Development Advertising Manager for the Suburban Journals of Greater St. Louis.  Eye is a member of the National Association of Professional Women and President of Eye Immaculate Janitorial Cleaning Excellence, Inc. and DREAM Consulting.  As the featured speaker, Eye will enhance the guests’ instincts through a series of challenges that business owners and their employees face, including excelling through educational opportunities, employee motivation and morale, intensifying customer service standards and expectations and ways to strengthen marketing efforts in order to grow a business.

Other featured speakers at the event include Ginger Woodman and Shane Callahan.  Woodman is a Riverbend native who recently survived cancer and hopes to share with guests her story of faith, humor and ultimately, survival.  Callahan is the Coordinator and Assistant Professor in Exercise Science at Lewis & Clark Community College.  He will share survival tips on the importance of staying fit, which ultimately provides more rest and relaxation.  Each speaker will provide an interactive learning environment for the women attendees.

Survival Island will be held on Wed., Sept. 15, 2010 at the Holiday Inn Alton.  It will begin at 7:30 a.m. with registration and end at 1 p.m.   The cost to attend is $50 per person, which includes lunch; or $275 for a table of six, which includes lunch and a table sign indicating the company being represented at the table.  To register, call (618) 467-2280 or visit www.growthassociation.com.   The deadline to register is Sept. 8, 2010.
