TheBANK OF EDWARDSVILLE RECEIVES FIVE-STAR “SUPERIOR” RATING
FROM NATIONAL, INDEPENDENT RATING FIRM

EDWARDSVILLE, ILL., Oct. 19, 2010 . . . Independent national rating firm, BauerFinancial, Inc. of Coral Gables, Fla., has named TheBANK of Edwardsville among its list of five-star “Superior” rated banks in the country.

Basing its ratings on quarterly reports that TheBANK of Edwardsville and all financial institutions file with regulators, BauerFinancial, Inc. has analyzed financial institutions since 1983 and shares its findings using a star-based system of zero to five stars with five stars being the highest honor.  Only fifty nine percent of all U.S. banks received four- or five-star ratings, up from 55.7 percent a year ago.

Considered one of the largest local banks with $1.47 billion in assets, TheBANK of Edwardsville has weathered the economic storm avoiding many of the pitfalls that other banks were trapped in as a result of failing loans, primarily in real estate and commercial loans.

According to Tom Holloway, President of TheBANK of Edwardsville, “Despite the economy, TheBANK of Edwardsville has seen continued growth, reporting year-over-year 18 percent growth in average deposits.  All of our new banking locations have been strong providers of core deposits, in particular new checking accounts. We expect this favorable trend to continue as each of these locations continues to grow.  As always, in times of economic uncertainty, we will continue to face challenges head on and continue to be proactive to insure that we will be best prepared to meet any issues that lie ahead.”
