LEND SUPPORT TO CHARITABLE CAUSES

Attorneys and employees of Belleville law firm Mathis, Marifian & Richter, Ltd., not only dedicate countless hours representing clients throughout southern Illinois, but they also give back to the community by supporting various community and global organizations in need.  The firm’s recent community support netted more than $2,500 for the Joplin tornado relief efforts and Make-A-Wish Foundation Illinois Chapter.

David Gusewelle, an associate of the firm, raised $1,000 to benefit the tornado relief efforts underway in Joplin.  Gusewelle raised the donation on behalf of the Mid-County Jaycees in which he serves as president.

On July 22, MM&R sponsored its monthly Jean Day fundraising event, which resulted in a donation of $230.00 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation Illinois Chapter.  For a minimum five dollar donation, employees of the firm can wear jeans to work on a designated day and the firm will match all proceeds raised.  Jean Day is held monthly and benefits a different charity each time.  MM&R and its employees have raised approximately $1,490.00 this year through Jean Day events.

Charitable support and giving is nothing new to MM&R.  The law firm has always dedicated resources to support charitable organizations of both local and global significance.   MM&R is a sponsor of Art on the Square and its Sculpture in the City Program, and the firm awards annual law scholarships to high school seniors interested in pursuing a career in law.  Staff regularly donates their time and resources to support various causes beyond the efforts of the law firm.
